Beautiful white tucked silk organza over blue lining, worn by Vera-Ellen as Angela Bonfils in the 1952 musical The Belle of New York. Designed by Helen Rose and Gile Steele, this attractice dress features a blue and pink polka dot belt around the waist and braided trim at the cuffs, hem, and collar. A wardrobe tag on the inside lining reads: "1545-8680 Vera-Ellen." Well preserved and in very fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Full of notable songs, this 1952 MGM picture stars legend Fred Astaire as an 1890's playboy who falls for a Salvation Army girl.
