An extravagant beige one-piece 1920's showgirl outfit, worn by Sheree North in her role as Kitty Kane in the 1956 musical The Best Things In Life Are Free. This fabulous costume has been decorated in gold bugle beads along the bustline and chest; a floral patterned rhinestone design graces the hemline along with gold mesh tassels. Topping off this costume is an array of orange and yellow feathers which flare out from the hips. An official 20th Century Fox sewn-in wardrobe label on the inside lining of the outfit reads, "20th Century Fox, Sheree North." Some minor wear to the feathers along the side, otherwise in fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Twentieth Century Fox introduced "The Best Things in Life Are Free in 1956. This musical went from Broadway to Hollywood in the twenties and was centered around a songwriting team de Sylva, Brown and Henderson. This film featured Ernest Borgnine, Gordon MacRae, Dan Dailey and Sheree North. Lionel Newman was nominated for an Academy Award.
