Claire Bloom Costume f- Brothers of Karamazov

Claire Bloom wore this beautiful period costume in the 1958 film THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV, a lavish drama depicting Russia in the 1870s. This 2-piece, hand-sewn costume is made of cotton. The ¾-length jacket is fitted with metal stays sewn inside. It has a scoop lace collar and long lace-edged sleeves. The jacket hem has lace edging, comes to a point in the front, is shorter on the sides and comes to a double point in the back. The piece buttons up the front with delicate white plastic buttons with roses. The fully lined, long skirt has a grosgrain ribbon waistband and a delicate lace-edged front pocket. An inside skirt label has the name Claire Bloom. A still of the actress wearing the dress in the film is included in the lot. The off-white cotton outfit is in overall good condition but has discoloring from age. One jacket button is missing and one chipped. A one-inch area (hidden in the folds) on the jacket hem lace is torn. Presented in association with JulienEntertainment.com
