Gray wool skirt and jacket, worn by Dorothy Gish as Mrs. Rogers in the 1946 musical classic Centennial Summer. A late 19th century design, this outfit features black trim along the jacket and a long gray and black tie-scarf that accompanies the outfit. A sewn-in wardrobe label on the inside of the skirt reads: "1-69-6-0728 47922 Dorothy Gish." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: This pleasing, family comedy with music centers around a Philadelphia family that responds to the Great Exposition of 1876. Jeanne Crain, Cornel Wilde, Linda Darnell and Constance Bennett are a few of the cast that color this 1946 Twentieth Century Fox picture.
