Elizabeth Taylor wore this headpiece in the controversial 1963 historical drama of the Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. CLEOPATRA won an Academy Award for costume design with Ms. Taylor's costumes exclusively designed by Irene Sharaff. The piece is a fitted nylon head cap with a gold woven pattern at the base. Attached to gold netting are delicate white flowers, gold leaves and bunches of small gold beads. The inside tag reads: Made to Order, Rex, Beverly Hills, California. An image showing the piece in use in the film also comes with the lot. The inside circumference is 21-22 inches. All sizes are approximate. The headpiece is in good condition, but has slight wear along the back edge (not noticeable). This costume is from the collection of Debbie Reynolds and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ms. Reynolds. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
