Susan Hayward Gown - Demetrius & Gladiators

Nude chiffon Roman-style nightgown worn by Hayward in the starring role as Messalina in the 1954 drama Demetrius and the Gladiators. In fine condition, with a wardrobe label on the inside of the gown reading "1-25-1-4367 Susan Hayward A712-21." This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: A lively sequel to "The Robe", this 1954 Twentieth Century Fox flick titled,"Demetrius and the Gladiators" starred Victor Mature as Demetrius and Susan Hayward as Messalina. A Greek slave who keeps Christ's robe after the crucifixion is sentenced to be one of Caligula's gladiators and becomes involved in Messalina's wiles.
