Frank Sinatra, playing a police detective, wore this uniform in the 1968 drama THE DETECTIVE. The uniform consists of four pieces, a jacket, shirt, pants and hat. The heavy black wool uniform jacket has four front pockets with copper buttons on the pockets, down the front, cuffs and on the epaulets. The lined coat has a Glickman of Los Angeles label, and identifying number label and Twentieth Century Fox stamped in the left sleeve. The fine black wool shirt has flap breast pockets. The black pants have double back pockets and an inside front watch pocket. The police officer's hat has a silver insignia on the front with the numbers 1013. This costume is from the collection of Debbie Reynolds and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ms. Reynolds. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
