Charlotte Greenwood Dress Worn in Dixie Dugan

Green dress with green ribbon trim down the front and at the cuffs, worn by Charlotte Greenwood as Mrs. Dugan in the 1943 comedy Dixie Dugan. In excellent condition. A studio sewn-in wardrobe tag on the inside seam of the dress reads: "24520 - 2nd - Greenwood." This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Lois Andrews, best known in 1943 as the ex-wife of comedian Georgie Jessel, plays the title character in this cinemadaptation of Joseph P. McEvoy's popular comic strip Dixie Dugan. Swept up in the war effort, Dixie gets a job as secretary to government official Roger Hudson (James Ellison). Though Roger pursues her romantically, Dixie remains faithful to her defense-plant-worker fiancee Matt Hogan.
