A gorgeous black lace and satin gown worn by Madeline Carroll in her starring role as Mrs. Erlynne in the 1949 Otto Preminger classic The Fan. Created by famed costume designers Rene Hubert and Charles Le Maire, this elegant dress features a floral pattern within the black lace and a handwritten wardrobe label on the inside lining that reads: "1-27-7-6307 549-06 Madeline Carroll." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Based on the play "Lady Windermere's Fan", this 1949 Fox production of "The Fan" is a tale of scandal almost resulting when Lady Windemere loses her fan. The A list cast includes Madeleine Carroll, Richard Greene, John Sutton, George Sanders and Jeanne Crain.
