Betty Grable Corset - Farmer Takes A Wife

This attractive flower patterned white satin corset adorned the body of the legendary Betty Grable in her starring role as Molly Larkin in the 1953 comedy musical The Farmer Takes A Wife. The garment features a printed rose pattern with a hooked front end and lace tie in the back with black satin trim. A handwritten wardrobe label on the inside lining reads: "1-31-3-3855 Betty Grable A-557." In very fine condition. This costume piece is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: This musical 1953 remake of the 1935 movie "Farmer Takes a Wife" is a Twentieth Century Fox production. Betty Grable, Dale Robertson, Thelma Ritter, Eddie Foy Jr. and John Carroll act out the story of a cook on a canal barge that has a low opinion of farmers.
