An attractive burlap period dress with matching hat, worn by Betty Grable in her starring role as Molly Larkin in the 1953 comedy musical The Farmer Takes A Wife. Created by renowned costume designer Travilla, the dress features a white rick-rack pattern along the hemline, neckline, and sleeves. Handwritten wardrobe labels on the inside of the hay and dress both read, "1-39-2-4579 Betty Grable A-671-60." A critical element to the film's ending, this dress was worn by Grable as a wedding dress in the final scenes. From condition to prominence, this costume rates a solid "10"! This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
