Joan Bennett Skirt - Father of the Bride 1950

Black wool skirt worn by Joan Bennett in her role as Ellie Banks in the 1950 comedy Father of the Bride. A sewn-in wardrobe label on the inside lining reads, "J. Benet, 1484-7037." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: The bride gets the thrills while the father gets the bills in the MGM 1950 flick, "Father of the Bride". This delightful comedy has Spencer Tracey as a father that surveys the cost and chaos of his daughter's (played by Elizabeth Taylor) marriage. Also starring Joan Bennett and Don Taylor. Spencer Tracey, Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett were all nominated for academy Awards. The film was also nominated for best picture.
