A complete outfit--consisting of an off-white blouse, skirt, jacket, purse, hat and leather gloves--worn by Jane Alexander in her starring role as Eleanor in the 1970 film The Great White Hope. Designed by Irene Shariff, this oufit is in excellent condition and features official 20th Century Fox wardrobe labels in the jacket collar, blouse and skirt. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander were both nominated for their performances in "The Great White Hope". The 1970 Fox film takes place in 1910 where a black boxer becomes world heavyweight champ but has trouble through his affair with a white girl.
