A complete outfit--consisting of a brown skirt with green trim and a yellow blouse--worn (not seen in the film) by Hayworth during the making of the 1948 drama The Loves of Carmen. Created by famed costume designer Jean Louis, this sexy spanish-style outfit features official Columbia Pictures sewn-in wardrobe labels inside both garments, reading: "Columbia Pictures, Name: Rita Hayworth." A well preserved outfit, this lot stands in superb condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: In 1820's Seville, a dragoon corporal is enslaved by a gypsy, kills her husband and becomes an outlaw in the 1948 Columbia release of "The Loves of Carmen". The undeniably sexy Rita Hayworth leads in this film and also stars with Glenn Ford, Victor Jory and Ron Randell.
