A magnificent oriental influenced formal dress, prominently worn by Loretta Young in her starring role as Abigail Fortitude Abbott in the 1949 comedy classic Mother is a Freshman. Created by costume designer Kay Nelson, this elaborate gown features an intricate oriental patterned design with an accent of ruby rhinestones along the neckline, sleeves, and along the attached waist belt. A sewn-in wardrobe label on the inside lining reads, "1-27-3-6342, 553-33 Loretta Young." A truly impressive and stylish masterpiece! This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
