A child's natural straw hat with brown ribbon around the crown, worn by Mona Freeman in her role as Iris Burt in the 1947 Academy Award winning musical Mother Wore Tights. Designed by Orry-Kelly, this hat features an official 20th Century Fox wardrone label on the inside lining. In fine condition. This costume piece is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Alfred Newman and Charles Henderson won Academy Awards for their contributions to the 1947 Fox film "Mother Wore Tights". This charming family musical featured Betty Grable, Dan Dailey and Mona Freeman bring to the screen the recollections of a vaudeville team and their growing family. The film was also nominated for two other Academy Awards.
