Betty Grable Outfit - Mother Wore Tights 1947

A multi colored outfit ensemble--consisting of a orange and white striped jacket, green skirt, and white blouse--used by Grable in her performance in the 1947 musical Mother Wore Tights. Although not used in a live sequence in the film, Grable is featured on a performance poster shown in the film that features Grable in this very outfit. Created by costume designer Orry-Kelly, this outfit stands in overall very fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Alfred Newman and Charles Henderson won Academy Awards for their contributions to the 1947 Fox film "Mother Wore Tights". This charming family musical featured Betty Grable, Dan Dailey and Mona Freeman bring to the screen the recollections of a vaudeville team and their growing family. The film was also nominated for two other Academy Awards.
