Blue cotton striped shirt with french cuffs and button-on collar, worn by Abel in the role of George Trellis in the 1944 Bette Davis drama Mr. Skeffington. Designed by Orry-Kelly, with an official Warner Brothers Wardrobe Label on the inside collar that reads, "Date: 4-1-44, Prod. #613, Walter Able [sic]." In fine condition. This costume piece is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: "Mr. Skeffington" is a touching, 1944 melodrama starring the great Bette Davis, Claude Rains and Walter Abel. Bette and Claude were both nominated for Academy Awards for this movie. A selfish beauty finally turns to her discarded, dull husband when he is blind. He doesn't mind her faded looks.
