Susan Hayward Dress from The President's Lady

A creation which assisted in earning The Presidents Lady an Academy Award nomination for Costume Design, offered here is an avacado green long sleeve dress, worn by Susan Hayward as Rachel Donaldson/Robards/Jackson in the 1953 drama. Designed by Renie Conley, this empire inspired dress features a velvet waist band and a Fox Studios costume tag on the inside of the dress (64016). Well preserved and in fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: "President's Lady" is the story of president Andrew Jackson from his early years, through his meeting with and subsequent marriage to Rachel Donelson Robards. The plot concentrates on the later scandal concerning the legality of their marriage and how they overcame the difficulties. Charlton Heston and Susan Hayword lend their talent to this 1953 Fox picture that was nominated for an Academy Award for art direction.
