An attractive pink Grecian style gown with peplum jeweled shoulder straps and a gold lame trim at the waist, worn by Pier Angelli in the 1954 film The Silver Chalice. Created by Majorie Best, the dress features an official Warner Brother sewn-in wardrobe label that reads, "P. Angeli, 7201-392." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: In 1954, Paul Newman and Pier Angeli star in Warner Bros. "The Silver Chalice". Nominated in two Academy Award categories, the story is about a Greek artisan that is commissioned to cast the cup of Christ in silver. He eventually travels to Rome to complete the task. Meanwhile, an interloper is trying to convince the crowds that he is the new Messiah by using nothing more than cheap parlor tricks.
