A key costume from one of the darkest careers in Hollywood, offered here is a blue and white peasant-style dress worn by Frances Farmer in the 1942 drama adventure Son of Fury (1942). Designed by Gwen Wakeling, this features an attractive lace bodice with a blue velvet bowtie. Some minor tears to the lace along the shoulders and neckline, which could easily be repaired. Otherwise in fine condition. Sadly, it would be in the same year of the film's release that Farmer was wrongfully committed to an asylum, where she spent more than a decade of her life. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
