An impeccable offering for the classic movie costume collector, presented here is Betty Grable's complete outfit--consisting of a dancing skirt, halter top, feathered hat and wrist bands--worn by Grable as Eileen O' Brien in the 1942 comedy musical Song of the Islands. An outfit which epitomized the times and accentuated Grable's beauty, the dress and halter features a wonderful array of varied length tassel fringe, while the headdress and wrist bands are accented by elaborate white feathers. In fine condition, with a wardrobe tag on the halter, dress, and hat all reading "32134 - Betty Grable - 1 27 3 3383." This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: With his sidekick Rusty, Jeff Harper sails to paradisiacal tropical isle Ahmi-Oni to bargain on behalf of his cattle baron father for land owned by transplanted Irishman Dennis O'Brien. But Jeff falls in love with O'Brien's daughter, Eileen. Betty Grable played Eileen in the 1942 Fox film "Song of the Islands", a great musical with lively songs.
