James Cagney Shirt - Strawberry Blonde 1941

A white period shirt with blue pinstripes, french cuffs and button on collar, worn by James Cagney in his starring role as Biff Grimes in the 1941 romantic comedy The Strawberry Blonde. Designed by Orry-Kelly, the shirt featured an official Warner Brothers sewn-in wardrobe label that reads, "Warner Brothers Pictures Inc, Hollywood Cal., Gar. No. James Cagney, Date: 10/22/40, Prod. 336." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: A dentist in turn-of-the century Brooklyn wonders if he married the right woman in "The Strawberry Blonde". This pleasant period comedy, drama is a remake of 'One Sunday afternoon'. James Cagney, Olivia de Havilland and Rita Hayworth star in the 1941 Warner Bros. film that was nominated for an Academy Award and tells a very human story.
