Eve Arden Costume Worn We're Not Married 1952

This striking pants-dress was worn by actress Eve Arden in the 1952 comedy WE'RE NOT MARRIED. The bodice of this sleeveless dress is grey lace over beige chiffon and silk. In addition, a delicate pale grey chiffon shirt style piece snaps at the waist and has a pointed collar and long, full sleeves with wide button cuffs. The bottom half, made of a dark grey jersey material, is actually wide-legged pants made to look like a skirt. The piece zips up the back and has hidden pockets. A still of Eve Arden wearing the dress in the film is included in the lot. This costume is from the collection of Debbie Reynolds and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Ms. Reynolds. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Hollywood Motion Picture Museum. The piece is in good condition but has a one inch tear on the left side front of the over shirt and a ¼ inch tear on the lower right side front. Presented in association with JulienEntertainment.com
