A brown chiffon gown--consisting of skirt, bodice, and lace shawl--worn by Natwick as Aunt Amarilla in the 1945 Vincente Minelli musical Yolanda and The Thief. Designed by Irene Shariff, this outfit features a handwritten wardrobe label sewn into the inside of the skirt that reads, "1347-9396 Mildred Natwick." In fine condition. This costume is from the prestigious collection of Debbie Reynolds and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Debbie Reynolds and Darren Julien of Julien Entertainment. Proceeds from this sale go to benefit The Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Motion Picture Museum.
About The Film: Johnny Riggs (Fred Astaire), a con man finds himself in a Latin-American country. There, he overhears a rich girl (Lucille Bremer) praying to her guardian angel for help in managing her tangled affairs. Riggs decides to materialize as the girl's "angel", gains her confidence and helps himself to the deluded girl's millions. Just as he and his partner (Frank Morgan) are about to flee with their booty, Riggs realizes he has fallen in love with the girl and returns the money. "Yolanda and the Thief" is a 1945 MGM musical.
