Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) - A Well Documented Silver Plated Oval Salver by August Wellner & Sohne Recovered From Vaults Beneath the Reich Chancellery, Munich by a US. M.I.S. (Military Intelligence Service) 1st Lieutenant of  the 1269th Engineer Battalion, Aue, stamped mark, 1930s, engraved with the personal eagle crest and 'AH' initials of Adolf Hitler, 27cm long
Provenance: Part of the captured enemy military equipment in the possession of a 1st Lieut., headquarters company of the 1269th engineer battalion, assigned to support the advance of the M.I.S. (Military Intelligence Service) which travelled ahead of the infantry. Arriving in Munich they found an array of tunnels connecting municipal buildings containing state papers treasures of the Third Reich in twenty five large vaults. Under the chancellery they found the Formal pattern table service and related wares. Accompanied by a photocopy of the Captured enemy military equipment certificate dated 10th August 1945 .
