Description
Ed White II's silver astronaut lapel pin awarded to him when he originally became an astronaut. Each astronaut was awarded one of these when they became an astronaut. They received a gold pin after their first space flight. The pin is presented as part of a magnificent display piece which includes a gorgeous signed Official NASA 8x10" color photo (with red serial number) of him in his silver spacesuit. also included is a flown 25mm silver medallion for the GT-4 flight and a silver 31mm medallion for Apollo 1. This triple matted and silver framed beauty measures 16½"x21" and is glazed on both sides so that the backs of the medallions and the portrait are visible. The backing pin was removed from the astronaut pin for display purposes. The portrait back has mimeographed information. A wonderful piece. The astronaut pins, one silver one from each astronaut, are rarely available. Worthy of the finest collection.
