
1969 APOLLO 12 FLOWN GOLD FOIL
Description
(.5"x1") Professionally matted and framed (15.5"x20"). There is a crew patch mounted below a multicolor, descriptive "Williamson" certificate (9"x8") that reads, in part: '...The gold foil attached to this presentation was part of the outer skin of the Apollo 12 Command Module 'Yankee Clipper'. Much of this thermal protection material was lost in the extreme heat of re-entry...I hereby certify that I personally removed this piece of foil from Columbia when the spacecraft was brought on board the recovery ship U.S.S. 'Hornet'. It is hand-signed in ink at the bottom. Unusually attractive.
