1970 APOLLO 13 FLOWN GOLD FOIL

There is a crew patch mounted below a multicolor, descriptive 'Williamson' certificate (9x8") that reads, in part: '...The gold foil attached to this presentation was part of the outer skin of the Apollo 13 Command Module 'Odyssey'. Much of this thermal protection material was lost in the extreme heat of re-entry...I hereby certify that I personally removed this piece of foil from Odyssey when the spacecraft was brought on board the recovery ship U.S.S. Iwo Jima'. It is hand-signed in ink at the bottom. Unusually attractive.
