“Select Sketches-New York” Staffordshire Platter

c. 1840s, Brown Staffordshire Platter: “Select Sketches - New York,” Choice Very Fine.
19”-long platter, 14.5” wide, with lovely brown transfer on white, produced by Thomas Dimmock. Minor 1.5” hairline crack on back--not seen or affecting imagery on front. Very slight toning, and minor stoneware defects on underside. From the “Select Sketches” series, as noted in maker’s mark on underside. A scarce, beautiful platter with fabulous designs and imagery, and in excellent condition.
