Lovely CT $5 “The Phoenix Bank” India Proof on Card

Hartford, CT, The Phoenix Bank, $5, Gem India Paper Proof on Card.
Haxby CT-195 G134. PRF-R6/7. A lovely, early style Proof note from the late 1830's, engraved by Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. Sharply designed, with “Aurora driven in a Chariot” and “Lafayette” at the left and “Justice” at the right vignette designs. This note is from the top position, with three very wide margins present. A superb impression and design combine to create excellent overall eye appeal for this very uniquely styled early Proof note.
