Extravehicular Mobility Unit Patch on Beta Cloth (4.5 x 4.5") with an Extravehicular Mobility Unit emblem on Beta cloth. The patch has been sewn around the perimeter with Beta thread in preparation for installation onto a spacesuit. From the collection of Walt Salyer, one of NASA's 5 suit technicians. Slayer began his work with space suit development when he was in the Navy and continued with NASA as one of NASA's five space suit technicians who maintained all the crew's equipment including their space suits. Salyer worked on NASA's space suits from the Mercury program all the way through Apollo. After retirement from NASA, he went on to work for space suit manufacturer ILC. Good condition, minor faults.
