A William and Mary silver lidded tankard, of plain form with reeded borders, with volute thumb piece and scroll handle, the lid engraved with an armorial crest of an antelope head erased encircled by a serpent, the body engraved with a later armorial crest bearing a Greek motto translated as 'Always to Excel', maker's mark OC above a fleur de lys (see Jackson's page 129), London 1690, 14cm high, approx. 20ozs. N.B. The crest on the body is shared with Belgrave and Manningham-Neve
