Walnut Chippendale secretary-bookcase,
top with two doors, each with four chamfered panels, horizontal backboards, secondary woods poplar and yellow pine, base with twelve stepped interior drawers below eight cubbyholes flanking prospect door, four lipped and graduated dovetailed drawers, original dovetailed bracket feet, dovetailed base with vertical yellow pine backboards and original rosehead nails, found in Georgia, 88 x 39 x 24 in. Replaced brass pulls and hinges, cornice lacking one piece of molding, one door detached with splintered hinge mounts, old refinishing, patches, separations and repairs throughout. Provenance: Cannon Collection.
