"J.W." John Williamson b.1826 d.1885 Hudson River Landscape Oil on artists board. Written on back: "Leeds, Catskill Creek Greene Co. NY JW" Remains in very good untouched condition. Probably original gilded gesso over wood frame. This is a beautiful fall landscape painted by noted New York State Artist John Williamson. Known for his magnificent paintings of the Hudson River Valley, Lake George, the Adirondacks and the Catskill Mountains. Elected to the National Academy of Art in 1861. sight size: 7"h x 12"w overall: 15 1/2"h x 20 1/4"w x 3 1/4"d
