Unknown Maker Horse and Crow, OH, c. 1920's. Moving amusement park attraction. Wood, metal and other mixed media construction. When wheel turns, horse's head, tail and hooves move. The crow bobs and caws. 11" x 16" x 33" h. Est. $5,000-10,000 Ship: $100. The subject consists of a crow being an irritant to a horse; tormenting him from a tree limb. The horse stomps his foot, rears his head, and swings his tail. Again several motions are synchronized. The horse works fine. Good paint. At one time, the crow would slide from side to side on the limb, tilt back and forth, flap its wings and caw, opening and closing its beak (these motions can still be manually performed). These pieces were discovered in the upstairs of this circa 1900 Hamilton,OH fire station.
