Very Rare 20-Star Civil War Era Flag with a Golden Eagle

c. 1861, Civil War Era, 20-Star with a Central Golden Eagle, Patriotic Parade Flag, Printed on Silk, “OUR WHOLE UNION”, Very Good.
This small, Civil War-era, 20-Star flag is extremely rare. The flag measures 2.4” x 6.2”, with the blue field printed in the upper right corners, and is printed on both sides. In the middle of the inner circle of stars is printed a Heraldic Golden Eagle, and the left margin (or the bottom margin, depending on whether the flag’s stripes are viewed vertically or horizontally) has a printed slogan, “OUR WHOLE UNION”. Flags of this design are extremely desirable, mainly because they are printed on silk and could have been used either to be worn pinned or using the extra 1/2” of outer silk to place around a small doll for use as a small, hand-held Parade flag. This flag has two expertly sealed splits and has a few scattered stains, remaining with bold colors and would be nice placed on display. Extremely rare.
