Condition/Details: This antique text is an early study of the characters and grammar of Chinese. The work includes a summary of the principal Chinese characters, lengthy sections on pronunciation of the language and its grammar, and a printing in Chinese with English translation of the Ta-hyoh, the first of the celebrated Four Books. The volume has been re-bound and has library tape to the spine and corners; the binding is solid and the pages are generally clean with some age toning and library markings. The book measures approximately 11" by 9.5".
