Important oil on canvas by Jules Scalella (b. 1895), impressionist oil of harbor scene with a docked motor yacht flying the American flag. Condition - untouched with original stretcher, contemporary simple stick frame. When viewed from side, some areas of canvas (sky region) raised from possible stretching of canvas. 29 1/2" x 35 1/2" painting. Scalella was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club, Society of Independent Artists, and taught at the Art Students League New York. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design, and Pennsylvania Academy.
