Art pottery vase signed, 'Hy-Long, Muscle Shoals, Alabama'. Consisting of a matt blue background glaze with tulips done in unglazed relief. Interior is a deep blue glaze. The pottery was thrown by Frank Long. Long worked at the Niloak pottery until 1917 and then worked for Spruce Pines Pottery in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in 1925. In 1927, he went to work at the Camark pottery in Arkansas. Condition - some staining of the unglazed areas of the flower design, small hairline at rim of vase. Height 10" x 3 3/4" diameter. Circa 1925-27.
