Gould & W. Hart Birds of New Guinea print

John Gould and W. Hart, Mintern Bros. Print titled 'Astur Melanochlamys' (1877-1888), hand colored lithograph from the Birds of New Guinea folio. The Birds of New Guinea was Gould's last full-scale work and was left unfinished at his death in 1881. The first 12 of the projected 25 parts were prepared by Gould, and the drawings completed by William Hart. Excellent condition (not examined under glass). 20 1/2" x 27 1/4" with frame. Circa 1877-1888.
