Condition/Details: This antique work is an illustrated description of the funeral tent of the Egyptian Queen Isi em Khem, a contemporary of Solomon, along with other findings from ancient Egypt. The volume includes a brief letter attached to the front free endpaper, written and signed by John Marshall. The letter is dated 1882, and offers this volume to the Somertshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, whose bookplate is on the opposite endpaper. The text is profusely illustrated with drawings of the ancient relics and their inscriptions, including several folding plates and some in color. The book is bound in green cloth with gilt embossing, and shows light external wear. The binding is intact with one loose plate, and the book is clean internally with usual library markings.
