⁂ ***A rare trade card in an excellent state of preservation for this circus / menagerie. The illustration depicts the capture of the so-called mammoth in the Malay mountains and the printed text verso provides further details on the beast: 'Is not an Elephant, but a descendant of the Prehistoric Monsters or Mammoths that were contemporaneous with the Ichthyosaurus and Pterodactyl...the rarest animals ever exhibited.'.
