Reverse Glass Lafayette Painting

c. 1824, Reverse Painting on Glass of LaFayette, Very Choice Extremely Fine.
The colorful and rich 10” x 7.5” portrait titled “LaFayette” in the bottom border shows a grey-haired LaFayette. He wears a blue and red military uniform under a fur collared green coat. One slight flake to the left of LaFayette. Original period simple wooden frame. LaFayette is most noted for his service under George Washington in the American Revolution.
