Land Grant Signed by George Clinton

GEORGE CLINTON, Governor of New York.
Document Signed, “Geo Clinton” as Governor of New York on heavy, watermarked paper, dated February 27, 1790, large folio Land Grant measuring 14.25” x 20.75”, Very Fine. The original paper and wax state seal is missing, some old split repairs were made on the verso, and a closed tear affects Clinton’s signature which appears at the bottom (just right of center). The printing and manuscript portions are very clear. A rare and impressive early New York document signed by George Clinton. Interestingly, the land granted herein was set aside “...for the Canadian & Nova-Scotia Refugees.”
