Description

WHITING & DAVIS Enamel Mesh Purse 1920s. Signed Art Deco mesh purse is decorated with black & white enameling. Unusual silver plated top on this mesh bag consists of a double hinged compact that is decorated with an embossed Art Deco design in a oval silhouette of a dancing couple. The top lid opens to expose a fold-out comb, oval mirror and two powder compartments with puffs. The puff hinged portion opens to reveal the interior of the purse. The Art Deco design black and white enameling on the mesh bag itself is in excellent condition. The cord handle has a silver plated reticulated slide. Entire piece is in excellent condition. Compact and purse measures 7 1/2" long by 3" wide. Entire length including handle measures approximately 14". Please check my other listings this week on ebay for more vintage handbags.
