cross-stretcher base with wooden ratcheting device below turned platform top, probably 18th or 19th century, Continental, 22-1/4 in. closed, opens to 35-1/4 in. Scattered pest damage, minor surface chips and wear, one stretcher with old mortise wounds, possibly a replacement.
