highly figured mahogany with line and barberpole inlay, silver shield-form escutcheons, interior with original line-inlaid cutlery dividers, composite bases attached with threaded wooden shaft, British, probably 19th century, 25-1/2 x 10 x 10 in. Some breaks and repairs to turned elements of base, possible restoration to feet, minor sun fading, scattered minor cracks, losses and repairs to veneers and inlay.
