FINE !/2 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE OF COUPLE

They are dressed for the outdoors, and seem to have just come in. The man sits sideways on the chair, his tall hat on his lap, his riding crop between his legs. The woman is wrapped in her cloak.

This 1/2 plate daguerreotype has been superbly made by an outstanding artist, who remains unidentified (unless someone recognizes the rug.) The plate has fine overall wipes but still shows its outstanding quality. In a leather case with separated cover. [D3+]
