CDV by Mumler, Boston. A large applied label on verso: "The spirit form represents 'Mabel Warren.' The young lady was assistant editress of his paper [the "Waverly Magazine"], and, being fatherless, was drawn to him as a father. Mr. D. is a gentleman of wealth and high social position, and his full indorsement [sic] of this picture makes it complete and satisfactory...."
A pen inscription (by Mumler?) reads: "Lee Oxon in Human Nature No 1874 p 486." See "The Perfect Medium" Catalog No. 3d, p. 26. There's also a pen inscription on recto. Clean but light. [2+] ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
